Ale Mail Cover

Available in a local pub - NOW

We still need people to help distribute Ale Mail to our local pubs. If you think you could help, please e-mail the editor.

We are still waiting for a copy of Ale Mail to put on the web site.

This edition includes a pub quiz (or more accurately a quiz about pubs). You can send your answer to us by post (the address is in Ale Mail). To save having to cut up your copy, you can print an entry form by clicking here or enter your answers below. The prize is a 2010 Good Beer Guide. If you want to be in with a chance of winning, please enter a contact address (post or e-mail). We will only use it to send the prize to the winner and all entries will be deleted after the closing date (31 August 2009).

1a Start your quest where we began. 1b In what year was the pub’s namesake formed?
2a Is this the first stage of brewing in Southsea? 2b Whose wartime achievement is commemorated here?
3a A magical pub – in a round about sort of way! 3b Which Surrey pub is pictured here?
4a The southerly pub to have risen from its ashes. 4b Which Chemist was put out of business by enemy action?
5a Don’t worry, you can get in through the door! 5b Which famous Englishman is commemorated in needlepoint?

If you can't work out any of the answers, you can still enter as if we don't get any entries with everything correct, the prize will go to whoever has the most right. The winner will be drawn at random from all the entries with the most correct answers. The winner's name will be published in the first edition of Ale Mail after the closing date and on here on our web site.

To help protect your details, unless you specifically ask, your e-mail address is not used to send us your answers. If you don't enter it we will not know it.
